Here are the festivals and arts and crafts shows Hoot Owl Creations will be doing throughout 2015. This list may change, as we are always on the lookout for new shows to do during the year.
March 28: Northwest Georgia Women’s Expo, Cartersville
Hours: March 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission: $5 for adults
This will be the second year we’ve done the women’s expo. This is the seventh year for the event, with singer and guitarist Chesley Stephens performing.
The expo is held at the Clarence Brown Conference Center, 5450 State Route 20, Cartersville, and parking is free.
April 18 Roman Starving Artist Expo
Hours: April 18, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Marking its fourth year, the Starving Artist Expo will have featured and spotlighted artists on display, with a variety of jewelry, paintings, pottery and other artwork as well as live music. This will mark our second year at the expo and we are looking forward to it.
The expo is held at the Seven Hills Building, 538 Broad Street, Rome, Ga.
May 2 and 3: May Market at Rose Lawn
Hours: May 2: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
May 3: Noon to 5 p.m.
This will be the second year for the May Market at Rose Lawn and it will be our second year there. We weren’t sure what to expect in 2014, because it was a one-day show, but it blew our expectations out of the water. We’re definitely looking forward to going back.
The festival is held at the Rose Lawn Museum, 224 W. Cherokee Ave., Cartersville, and parking is free at the Cartersville Public Library. Other parking options are available in the area as well.
July 4: Stars & Stripes & Cartersville Fourth of July Celebration
Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Admission: Free. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
Held at Dellinger Park, 110 Grove Road, Cartersville Ga.
As our first Fourth of July festival, we are excited about this event. The fireworks are supposed to be twice as large as last year, and there are events planned throughout the day. With a parade scheduled for 9 a.m., the fun will last all day.
July 24 and 25: Cave Spring Motorcycle Rally
Hours: July 24: gates open at noon
July 25: gates open at 9 a.m.

We have never done anything like the Cave Spring Motorcycle Rally before, and that’s exactly why we decided to sign up for it. There’s going to be music playing all day, there’s a bike show planned and the rally is organizing a poker run. We think we’ll have a blast out there.
September 19 and 20: Rose Lawn Arts Festival
Hours: Sept. 19: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sept. 20: noon to 5 p.m.
We’re going back to Rose Lawn in the fall for our fourth year. This will be the 40th anniversary of the show and we’re proud to be able to take part in it.
We’re going back to Rose Lawn in the fall for our fourth year. This will be the 40th anniversary of the show and we’re proud to be able to take part in it. Every year we see cool arts and crafts, meet new customers, and reconnect with previous buyers. A large book sale just sweetens the deal.
September 26 and 27: Riverfest Arts & Crafts Festival
Hours: Sept. 26: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sept. 27: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission: $5 at the gate for adults and children 11 and older
Held at Boling Park on the banks of the Etowah River in Canton behind Cherokee High School.
We’ve wanted to get into Riverfest ever since we first visited it two years ago. This will be our first time doing a show in Cherokee County and it’s a big one. We’re excited to break into a new market and meet new people.
November 7 and 8: Mountain Art and Craft Celebration at Cloudland Canyon
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days
Admission: $5 parking pass, $3 per person, 12 and under free
Held at Cloudland Canyon State Park, 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road, Rising Fawn, GA 30738.
This is our first year at Cloudland Canyon. All the booth fee proceeds and entry fees go straight to the park’s funds, so we’re more than happy to support a state park everyone can enjoy. The park should be gorgeous in November, so at the very least we’ll have some great views during this new show.
November 14: Bartow County Friends Craft Fair
Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Held at the Cartersville Civic Center 435 West Main Street, Cartersville GA 30120
A small, nearly intimate arts and crafts show, the Friends Craft Show is another event we enjoy doing because it supports a worthy cause. The booth fees go toward programs at the Bartow County Library. This is the third year in a row we’ve taken part and there are always some interesting crafts on sale from local residents.
December 5 and 6: Rome Winter Art Market
Hours: Dec. 5: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dec. 6: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Held at the Rome Civic Center, located at 402 Civic Center Drive, Rome, Ga. It’s opposite the Steak ’n’ Shake.
Hoot Owl Creations has been doing the Rome Winter Art Market every year since the event started. It’s a great way to wrap up the year. The show is well organized, we see our friends, and we’re inside. Throw in a carefully curated set of vendors and you’ve got a great place to do your Christmas shopping.
